How was Teflon developed?
In 1938, a project Dr. Roy Plunkett of work, a new form of exploitation of the refrigerant. Meanwhile efforts to develop a refrigerant, a unique combination of byproduct formation has the characteristics. This amazing slip material proved to be inert to most chemicals. The product was named polytetrafluoroethylene – more commonly referred to: polytetrafluoroethylene.
Initially, the product PTFE resin and the dispersion formed is used during World War II military. In 1944 TEFLON® is a trade mark of this unique material. In the mid-1950s, the PTFE resin DuPont announced the commercial market produced a series of new PTFE tube, tubes, rods and profile options.
Although TEFLON®PTFE has amazing performance, there are some limitations. In response to these limitations, developed by DuPont TEFLON® new form called fluoride – ethylene – propylene – more commonly referred to as: FEP. In FEP Teflon material superior visual clarity. FEP from the method of production of products, from different PTFE makes it the best specific products, such as pipes and pipe extrusion and injection molding. However, the production of pipe and tube from FEP also has its limitations. To address these limitations later was TEFLON® trade name of the product development: PFA and HP PFA.
